Sacraments - Confirmation

In the Archdiocese of Glasgow, the Sacrament of Confirmation is normally celebrated later in the year in which a child has received the Sacrament of Reconciliation (First Confession) - usually around October or November.
As with the Sacrament of Reconciliation, much of the preparation will take place in the Catholic School. Parents of children who do not attend a Catholic primary school have the responsibility of ensuring that their child is well prepared.
Parish Catechesis sessions take place during the weeks leading up to the celebration of Confirmation
For older children and adults who are not baptised, Confirmation would normally be celebrated, with Baptism, at the Easter Vigil.
For adults who are baptised but who have not received the Sacrament of Confirmation, it is sometimes possible to receive the Sacrament on the Feast of Pentecost.

The Sacrament of Confirmation for children who are duly enrolled will be celebrated on Sunday 16th November at the 12 noon Mass

Catechesis sessions take place in the parish hall on the three preceding Sundays at 9.45 am

On Sunday 9th November there will be a brief meeting with the parents of the children to be confirmed at 10.30 am in the Hall.
